SUMMARY
Compiles records concerned with ordering, receiving, transfers, issuing and storing of supplies and shipping materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
- Compile data from multiple sources such as purchase orders, invoices, requisitions, returns and accounting reports.
- Use computer to maintain inventory, purchasing, shipping or other records.
- Oversee daily entries by Technicians to ensure proper GL account coding and quantities are entered prior to posting.
- Process technician replenishment requests daily.
- Compile stock control records and information such as, consumption rate, characteristics of items in storage, current market conditions, determine stock supply and need for replenishment.
- Prepare system purchase quotes (requisitions), orders, or other documents for purchasing/requisitioning new or additional stock items.
- Quarterly Reviews and updates item number lead times and safety stock.
- Compares nomenclature, stock number authorized substitutes and other listed information with catalogs, manuals, parts lists, and similar references to verify accuracy of requisitions and shipping orders.
- Conduct Cycle Counts after ensuring accuracy of accumulated data; transfer all necessary data to your supervisor as scheduled.
- Ensure “internal control” in all accounting activities by applying the required cross checks and balances.
- Reconciles records with internal company employees and management or external vendors/customers.
- Reviews files to determine unused items and recommends disposal of excess stock.
- Clean and sweep stock rooms and warehouse floor weekly.
- Maintain weekly forklift inspection sheets.
- Maintain a positive work atmosphere by acting and communicating in a manner so that you get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
- Generate all the related reports required from each warehouse function as requested.
- Work on special projects and additional duties assigned by supervisor ensuring that deadlines are met.
- Maintains compliance to all relevant OSHA, safety, or departmental specific standards as directed by supervisor.
- Merchandise receiving – confirms packing list item code, quantity with purchase order. System scan all serialized equipment and barcode each item.
- Maintains returns – disposition GOOD/BAD/OBSOLETE.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; Experienced in bar-coding inventory items; Ability to utilize an Excel spreadsheet in performing the position's work requirements.
Forklift Certificate of Training (6-10 thousand-pound rating) – preferred
Must have a valid Driver's License and insurable record.
Must pass pre-employment screen, physical and background checks.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must have computer skills. eLation inventory software preferred.
Able to type and write.
Able to climb ladders and walk.
Must be able to handle supplies in boxes or packages and place them on shelves at various heights.
Must be able to roll cable reels a short distance to position them to be lifted with a forklift.
Must be able to operate a forklift.
Must be able to work required overtime and participate in out-of-town assignments.
Must be able to attend and successfully complete required training courses.
Must be able to maintain all Material Safety Data Sheets.
Must be computer literate and possess competency in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
Must be able to work under frequent interruption conditions.
