Responsibilities
Registered Nurse - OR Essential Functions
- Develops an individualized plan of care based on nursing assessment, medical diagnoses, and knowledge of specific illnesses, injuries, diseases, surgical procedures and appropriate standards of care
- Collaborates with other disciplines to maximize patient outcomes and effect a smooth flow of the surgical experience
- Plans and utilizes resources efficiently to complete the daily schedule in a timely manner while providing safe and individualized patient care
- Demonstrates appropriate knowledge of special needs for various age groups including pediatric, adult and geriatric when providing resources for the perioperative experience
- Reassesses, evaluates and revises the implementation of the plan of care to meet the changing needs of the patient
- Responds appropriately to changes in the patient’s condition and/or behavior
- Completes appropriate portions of the patient record accurately and thoroughly
- Function as a circulating nurse during multi-specialty surgical procedures
- Must be willing and able to adjust schedule depending upon the needs of the company
- Must present self at the workstation, ready for work, at the scheduled time
- Participates in department and company meetings, as requested
- Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Education & Licensing
- Graduate of an NLN accredited school of registered nursing required
- Current licensure as a RN in the State of WI or ability to obtain WI licensure prior to start date required
- BLS, ACLS and PALS required – will provide upon hire
- Certified Nurse – Operating Room, Perioperative Nurse (CNOR) recommended
Experience
At least 1 year of OR experience in a multispecialty setting in the last 3-5 years required
