What are the responsibilities and job description for the Teacher Aide position at Valley Stream Central High School District?
The Valley Stream Central High School District is a beautifully diverse school community. The district serves students in grades 7-12.
Teacher Aides assist students both in the classroom and in the hallways. Teacher Aides traditionally work with an individual student, assisting with organizational skills and other areas as identified by the teacher and the District's Committee on Special Education. Additional responsibilities include the following:
- Provide support to the teacher in implementing specialized programs for students.
- Help students with daily tasks, focusing on their individual needs and goals.
- Assist with academic activities and reinforce learning in small groups or via one-on-one instruction.
- Provide assistance with implementing and monitoring behavior modification strategies to support student focus and participation.
- Aid in organizing the classroom and preparing materials for student use.
- Help with cleaning and keeping supplies and materials in order.
- Collect data related to student progress to help teachers monitor development.
- Work with students and support the teacher with various classroom activities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27,000.00 per year
