What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Apprentice, artisan dairy position at Valley Shepherd Creamery?
Valley Shepherd creamery, located in Long valley, Morris County, NJ is hiring. The valley shepherd production room is making more cheese and more yogurt and more help is needed in producing our artisan products.
We make 25 types of cave aged cheeses from cow, goat and sheep milk. Our nationally distributed product line is sheep's milk yogurt. Our products are sold at premier gourmet shops and supermarkets nationally.
This position centers around operating yogurt filler- sealer machinery in our Easton, PA plant but there will be some days where you will be expected to report to the main farm facility in Long Valley, NJ. 07853
No need for experience in our field but must have good mechanical aptitude to understand the equipment.
Must be a self-motivated, methodical and meticulous individual, who is willing to work standing for most of the day. We encourage folks new to dairy operations who have a desire to learn and grow. We are happy to train!
Requirements;

- Able to adhere to health and safety regulations
- Able to keep a clean and tidy working environment
- Hours are typically at least 3 days /week 8am to 3pm
- Eager to learn, willing to try new things, and resilient in the face of failure.
