THE ROLE
Valley School of Ligonier is an independent day school serving students in grades K-8. We are strongly rooted in our founding mission and core values, emphasizing holistic wellness, wisdom, integrity, and community. We are well known for our robust and balanced academic curriculum and the inclusion of arts and athletics in every child’s daily schedule. The Food Services Technician III is responsible for assisting with lunch service, and meal prep. S/He is tasked with keeping the kitchen clean and orderly while making sure all dishes and workstations are sanitized and orderly. The Food Services Technician III will assist in executing multiple school-related events throughout the school year and may be asked to work outside of normal scheduled school hours. This is a full-time, 10-month position.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist food prep preparation
· Serving lunch daily to all students K-8th Grade, Faculty, and Staff
· Assist DOFS with event management
· Sanitize and clean the kitchen and dining room area
· Operate Large Food Service Equipment, such as slicers, warmers, and ovens
· Perform standard kitchen duties as directed by the Director of Food Services
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
· Proven work experience in food services or in a similar role
· Interest in and enthusiasm for K-8 education
· Proven ability to work on and hit deadlines
· Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, Email
· Acumen for detail
Qualifications
· 3 years of relevant work experience
