Job Summary:

Cost estimating of projects for final bid/GMP and conceptual budget costs during design.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1.      This key position is responsible for cost estimating of projects from $100,000 to $30,000,000 in size.  Estimates will be for final bid/GMP and for conceptual budget costs during design. 

2.      Estimating includes solicitation and prequalification of subcontractors, on screen quantity takeoff, 3D surface data preparation, material pricing, customization of crew templates with production rates, value engineering, preparation of detailed proposals, generation of constructability comments, analysis of alternate methods, and general support of the field and project management team.

3.      Experience in self-performed horizontal trades is required.

4.      The Estimator must have strong technical skills in construction software applications.  Software includes 3D data preparation, digital takeoff, customized data base estimating, spreadsheet and cloud based applications. 

5.      Must have technical knowledge of a broad range of construction trades with an emphasis on horizontal construction, but also a knowledge of vertical building.

6.      Interpersonal and management skills will be required to work within a team and to handle multiple projects with completing deadlines.

7.      Must have excellent written and oral presentation skills with the ability to present before large professional groups.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

Five years of stable employment in site, civil and park construction estimating is required.  Experience in Design-Build, CMAR and JOC projects.

Clean driving and safety records are required.

Must have a minimum of 2 years of completed college in a construction-related degree.  A four year degree is preferred.
