Valley Preparatory School is looking for a Physical Education Teacher teacher for the 2026-27 academic school year. Valley Prep School, located in Redlands, California, is a coeducational independent day school offering a college preparatory curriculum in grades preschool through eight. The school environment is enriched by students who come from a variety of geographical, economic, social, and ethnic backgrounds. A teacher for this position: * has a deep interest and passion for teaching Physical Education * has attained a BS degree in PE or related field * can create a developmentally appropriate cooperative learning environment * has interest in and/or experience with integrating thematic units across the curriculum * values collegiality with other teachers and administrators * has excellent communication skills with both children and adults * has experience collaborating with a team of teachers to deliver curriculum * has a warm and energetic personality with a good sense of humor *has a high level of comfort with a lot of movement and physical activity each day *has experience teaching a wide range of age groups * has experience working in a private/independent school setting (preferred but not required) Applicants should also be able to teach the students about the following: * Health and Nutrition * Sportsmanship * Team Sports and individual sports * invent fun games for different age levels Other qualities: * should demonstrate considerable PE skill, knowledge, patience and creativity. * Able to coach after school sports if needed
