Located in Houston, TX, we focus on tight-tolerance CNC work, fast turnaround times, and consistent execution. Our team takes pride in being hands-on, efficient, and detail-oriented, with a strong emphasis on accountability and craftsmanship.

Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role for a CNC Machinist located in Houston, TX. This position is for a setup-capable machinist, not a button pusher. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC machines, running first articles, and making necessary adjustments to ensure parts meet print and quality requirements.

This role requires someone comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, jumping between machines as needed, and taking ownership of jobs from setup through production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform full machine setups, including installing tooling and fixtures
  • Bore soft jaws and properly indicate/secure workholding
  • Independently run and approve first articles
  • Touch off tools and set tool offsets accurately
  • Make offset adjustments to maintain part tolerances during production
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
  • Monitor multiple machines and move between jobs efficiently
  • Inspect parts using standard measuring tools to ensure quality
  • Troubleshoot machining or setup issues as they arise
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a CNC machinist with setup experience (mills and/or lathes)
  • Strong understanding of tooling, workholding, and machining processes
  • Ability to bore jaws, set tools, and dial in parts without supervision
  • Experience running and approving first article parts independently
  • Comfortable making real-time offset changes to hold tolerance
  • Ability to run multiple machines and manage workflow efficiently
  • Proficient in reading blueprints and using inspection tools (calipers, mics, gauges, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability
  • Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision

Preferred (but not required):

  • Experience with tight-tolerance or oil & gas components
  • Familiarity with Fanuc Control
  • Prior experience in a job shop or high-mix environment
