What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fleet Mechanic position at Valley Pacific Petroleum Services?
Valley Pacific is seeking a Fleet Mechanic to maintain its fleet of delivery trucks in the Stockton, CA area. This person will assist in the maintenance and repair of the truck fleet. This person will also assist in keeping track of all maintenance records and DVIRS. The successful candidate will have excellent communication (listening), negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

- VPPS is looking for someone who has excellent interpersonal skills, is self- motivated, highly organized, and able to resolve problems
- Must maintain a clean and organized shop environment.
Required Skills/Experience:
- Must have thorough knowledge of the duties and responsibilities of a Class A diesel fleet mechanic.
- Knowledge of air brakes and related plumbing
- Proficient in the diagnosis of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and AC systems
- Knowledge of the mechanical requirements of the DOT/FMCSA/CHP for a HAZMAT fleet, performing intrastate commerce
- Tanker fabrication and aluminum repair experience a plus
- Preventative maintenance background
- CDL with tanker and hazmat endorsements a plus, but not required
Compensation and Benefits:
- Pay range from $33 - $38 per hour, depending on experience
