What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sterile Processing Technician position at Valley Oral Surgery, PC?
Job Specifications:
- Knowledge of equipment function sufficient to be able to determine operation adequacy.
- Knowledge of processes, procedures, quality assurance, chemicals and instruments.
- Correctly peel-packs supplies/instruments, wraps instruments for sterilization, inspect each instrument for use, function, completeness and cleanliness.
- Prepares instruments and equipment for proper cleaning through decontamination and sterilization processes.
- Collaborate with clinical team to ensure timely processing and availability of surgical trays and equipment.
- Ensures safe, optimal operation of equipment reporting any equipment concerns to Clinical Coordinator or Director in a timely manner.
- Prepares treatment room/operatory for patient by following prescribed infection-control policies and procedures .
- Maintains safe, clean, and compliant working environment by following procedures, rules and regulations, adhering to infection-control policies and protocols.
- Assist in the discharge of the surgical patient removing intravenous line and bandaging site following infection-control process.
- Review discharge instructions with the patient and designated representative accompanying the patient.
- Protect patients' right to privacy by ensuring all interactions are handled with confidentiality.
