Job Summary
Provides the clerical and administrative components of patient encounters as a member of the Front Office team.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Greets and interacts with patients via telephone and in person.
- Coordinate and organize appointments and documentation through the electronic health record (EHR) to facilitate the smooth running of the practice environment and support delivery of quality patient care.
- Performs registrations, scheduling, filing through the electronic health record (EHR). Collects and processes payments and co-payments
- Performs registrations, scheduling, scanning, and clerical functions accurately and in a timely manner. Accurately updating information into the practice management system (EHR).
- Maintains current knowledge of insurance, managed care plans, and medical/dental authorization requirements.
- Obtain prior authorization or surgical clearance as needed for patient visit and/or procedures
- Meet with patient to coordinate surgical procedure to include consent review/signing, review patient financial responsibility, surgical day expectations.
- Cross-training for coverage in Scheduling Center.
