We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Pediatric Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The Medical Biller will work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients to facilitate timely and accurate claims processing.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify patient information for accuracy before billing.
- Code medical procedures and diagnoses using ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems.
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies for reimbursement.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and manage the medical collection process.
- Communicate with healthcare providers regarding billing discrepancies or issues.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in medical billing regulations and coding standards.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare laws and regulations related to billing practices.
- Collaborate with the medical office team to streamline billing processes.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical billing, coding, or a related field is preferred.
- Familiarity with DRG (Diagnosis Related Group) coding is advantageous.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and healthcare systems.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to work independently.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with patients and healthcare professionals.
