Cashier- Part Time- Afternoon to close + Weekends

What You’ll Do:

• Greet customers with a warm, friendly attitude.
• Efficiently and accurately process purchases at the register.
• Share knowledge about co-op membership, specials, and store products.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming checkout area.
• Assist customers with questions and provide excellent service.

What We’re Looking For:

• A friendly, positive attitude and excellent customer service skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to handle transactions accurately.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• A team player who enjoys working with people.
• Prior cashier or customer service experience is a plus, but not required—we’re happy to train the right person!
• Availability to work afternoons to close and at least one shift during the weekend.

Mandatory Qualifications:

• English proficiency
• Excellent time management, organizational and communication (oral, aural, and written) skills
• Detail oriented and able to multi-task and remain flexible to the changing needs of the business
• Regular, predictable attendance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with POS (Point of Sale) systems
• Previous customer service and cash handling experience
• Familiarity with natural foods, grocery industry or cooperatives

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 10 pounds frequently, 20 pounds occasionally
• Manual dexterity with ability to reach, grasp and perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and fingers for extended periods of time
• Close-to-mid-range visual acuity to operate cash registers and focus on and/or read data and words on a computer monitor for extended periods of time
• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Ability to kneel, crouch, and bend occasionally required
