Valley Medical Group is seeking a per diem Medical Technologist to work in our Easthampton Health Center!
Position: Medical Technologist
Location: Easthampton
Hours: Per Diem. Schedule is flexible and to be determined at the time of the interview. NO NIGHTS! NO WEEKENDS!
Responsibilities : Reporting to the Lab Manager, the Medical Technologist will collect biological specimens and perform general laboratory tests as ordered by healthcare providers to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology
- 1 to 3 years’ experience in a clinical laboratory environment
- ASCP Certification or equivalent
- Relates the anatomy and physiology of body systems and anatomic terminology to the major areas of the clinical laboratory
- Utilizes appropriate universal precautions in the workplace and knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment
- Ability to handle and process specimens for transportation/analysis
- Computer skills applicable to the health care setting
- Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
- Skill in exercising initiative, judgment, and critical decision making.
- Ability to maintain organization and ability prioritize. Attention to detail for accuracy and precision.
- Knowledge of standard quality control and proficiency testing.
