Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Charge Nurse to oversee patient care and coordinate nursing activities . The ideal candidate will possess extensive clinical experience, particularly within long term care and geriatrics. This role requires a strong foundation in long term care, patient assessment, and healthcare documentation to ensure the delivery of exceptional care in a fast-paced environment. The Charge Nurse will serve as a vital link between staff, patients, and physicians, ensuring compliance with facility protocols and standards of care.
Duties
- Supervise and coordinate nursing staff to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physiology evaluations, and medical history reviews.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following established protocols.
- Utilize EMR/EHR systems for precise medical documentation and record keeping.
- Perform IV insertions, venipuncture, and other invasive procedures as needed.
- Monitor patient progress, respond to emergencies, and provide critical interventions in trauma or urgent care situations.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
- Oversee patient transfers, admissions, discharges, and coordinate post-acute or outpatient care when appropriate.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to infection control standards and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
Skills
- Experience in Long Term Care Setting Preferred
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and patient assessment techniques.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems for documentation and medical records management.
- Skilled in medication administration, IV insertion, venipuncture, and injections with a focus on patient safety.
- Ability to perform comprehensive patient care including vital signs monitoring and post-operative assessments.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and best practices for maintaining confidentiality of medical records.
- Experience working with diverse populations including Geriatrics
