Shop Laborer
We are seeking a dependable, hardworking Shop Laborer to assist with daily operations in our metal fabrication shop. This position involves cleaning and preparing cut steel parts, operating shop equipment, and supporting fabricators and welders as needed.
Responsibilities
- Grind, deburr, and clean parts produced by the burn table
- Remove slag and sharp edges from cut parts
- Prepare and paint fabricated steel parts
- Move and organize materials throughout the shop
- Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely
- Load and unload trucks and material
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards
- Inspect completed work for cleanliness and quality
- Follow all shop procedures and safety requirements
- Assist welders, fabricators, and other employees as needed
Qualifications
- Previous manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or shop experience is preferred
- Forklift and overhead-crane experience is preferred
- Comfortable using grinders and basic hand and power tools
- Able to read a tape measure
- Able to lift and handle heavy materials safely
- Able to stand, bend, kneel, and work on your feet throughout the shift
- Willing to work around steel, dust, sparks, paint, and industrial equipment
- Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions
- Strong attention to safety and quality
Training may be provided for the right candidate. This is a hands-on position for someone who takes pride in their work and is willing to help wherever needed in the shop.
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
