Assistant Football Coach
This contracted, exempt position is responsible for supporting the Head Coach in all aspects of team management, coaching, training, and scouting at Valley Lutheran High School. This 5-month position reports to the Head Coach and is in Phoenix, Arizona. Valley Lutheran is a 1A school in Arizona that plays 8-man football.

Responsibilities
· Demonstrate Christian concern for athlete’s academic, athletic, social and spiritual development
· Initiate, schedule, coordinate, and conduct scheduled position group drills
· Provide system for issuing athletic equipment to athletes and supervision of such equipment
· Perform other related duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
· Excellent organizational abilities, professional written and oral communication skills
· Ability to work independently and maintain a schedule
· Knowledge in the trends of the respective sport
· Available evenings and weekends
· Occasional travel with teams
Education and/or Training
A bachelor’s degree in a related field is required a master’s degree is preferred. Minimum of three years coaching experience; high school coaching experience preferred.
Compensation
This is a contracted, stipend position. Starting range is dependent upon individual qualifications and experience.

Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

At-Will Employment
The employee relationship between Valley Lutheran and its employees is of an at-will nature. This means the employee is hired for an indefinite period. Thus, the employee is free to leave at any time he or she believes it is in his/her best interest. Similarly, Valley may terminate the employment relationship whenever it is deemed appropriate.
