What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructional Aide position at Valley Life Charter School?
The job of “Activities Aide” is done for the purpose/s of assisting (under direct supervision) in the supervision and instruction of students; assists in administering and scoring grade level physical fitness tests, if applicable to the school site; assists in playground assignments, as required; to perform routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel; and to do other related work as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The support staff at Valley Life Charter School must be flexible in the duties they are assigned.
These are some responsibilities of the support staff:
PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION:
- Assists instructional personnel with the development and presentation of activities for physical education.
- Assists students individually or in-groups to develop their skills during physical education activities and during organized games at recess.
- Performs a variety of regular maintenance duties, such as keep inventory of and removing and/or repairing equipment that is used for physical education and assists in maintaining the physical education equipment in a neat and orderly manner.
- Monitors individual students, classroom and/or playground activities for the purpose of providing a safe and positive learning environment.
- Performs general clerical duties for the instructional staff, such, preparing schedules for physical education classes and intramural sports.
- Maintains a variety of reports, records, and lists of games and activities that have been presented in physical education and during intramural.
- Assists in maintaining student discipline
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
- 48 credits earned from an accredited college
- Or Associates Degree or higher
- Or a passing score on the instructional assistant exam
- Valid TB Clearance by first day of employment
- Clear Criminal Background/Fingerprint Clearance
- Maintain acceptable standards of physical health, energy and emotional adjustment to the job environment.
- Computer skills- proficiency in Google and others as necessary

- Regular requirement to standing for an hour and half at a time, sit, walk, talk, hear, see, read, speak, reach, stretch with hands and arms, stoop, kneel and crouch
- Lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
