Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Host to create a welcoming atmosphere for our guests. The Host will be responsible for managing reservations, greeting guests, and coordinating seating arrangements to optimize the flow of the restaurant or venue.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and provide excellent customer service
- Manage reservations and waitlists efficiently using POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Coordinate seating arrangements to maximize table turnover while ensuring guest satisfaction
- Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth operations
- Maintain a clean and organized host station and waiting area
- Provide guests with information about menu items, specials, or venue amenities as needed
- Handle phone inquiries with professional phone etiquette and assist with guest inquiries or special requests
- Assist with guest seating during busy periods and manage guest flow during events or peak hours
- Support guest relations by addressing concerns promptly and courteously
Qualifications
- Prior experience as a Host/Host or in food service/hospitality is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is advantageous
- Experience in restaurant, hotel, or guest services environments is a plus
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting
- Professional appearance and demeanor with good phone etiquette
- Knowledge of hospitality industry standards and guest relations best practices
