Radiologic Technologist – Interventional Cardiology & Vascular Lab Assistant
The Radiologic Technologist will provide specialized support to interventional cardiologists and vascular surgeons in an outpatient procedural lab setting. This role involves assisting physicians during minimally invasive image-guided procedures by operating fluoroscopic imaging equipment, maintaining a sterile field, and providing real-time imaging support to ensure safe and efficient patient care.
The technologist will work directly alongside physicians at the procedure table, anticipating procedural needs, assisting with equipment setup, preparing and managing imaging supplies, and ensuring optimal visualization throughout diagnostic and interventional cases. Responsibilities include operating C-arm fluoroscopy systems, obtaining high-quality intraoperative images, documenting procedural imaging, and adhering to radiation safety standards and sterile technique protocols.
The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of vascular and cardiac anatomy, familiarity with interventional procedures, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced procedural environment. This position requires excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to anticipate the needs of physicians and the procedural team while maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist interventional cardiologists and vascular surgeons during outpatient endovascular and cardiac procedures.
- Operate fluoroscopic imaging equipment and provide real-time imaging guidance during procedures.
- Scrub and assist at the procedure table as needed while maintaining a sterile environment.
- Prepare, position, and verify imaging equipment before and during procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to ensure efficient workflow.
- Maintain radiation safety practices for patients, staff, and procedural personnel.
- Assist with procedural documentation and quality assurance requirements.
- Ensure compliance with facility policies, infection control standards, and regulatory guidelines.
Qualifications:
- ARRT-certified Radiologic Technologist (RT(R)) preferred.
- Experience in interventional radiology, vascular surgery, cardiac catheterization, or fluoroscopy preferred.
- Strong understanding of sterile technique and procedural workflows.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented outpatient environment.
- Excellent critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.
