Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Home Health Aide to provide essential support to individuals in their homes or community settings. The ideal candidate will have experience in patient care and a strong understanding of the needs of clients, particularly those with developmental disabilities, dementia, Alzheimer’s etc. This role requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our clients through personalized care and assistance.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive environment.
- Observe and report changes in client health status or behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Administer medications as prescribed and maintain accurate medical documentation.
- Assist with mobility needs using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary.
- Ensure a clean and safe living environment by performing light housekeeping tasks including laundry and cleaning.
- Support clients with memory care strategies for those experiencing dementia or Alzheimer’s.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations while handling sensitive information.
Skills
- Proficient in patient observation techniques and understanding medical terminology.
- Experience in assisted living, nursing home settings, or long-term care environments.
