Summary:
The Workforce Development Specialist is responsible for recruiting healthcare talent and building a skilled workforce pipeline. Experience: 2 years of experience in workforce development, human resources, career counseling, or a related field.

$69,426- Commensurate with experience

Monday, Wednesday, Friday 8:00 am - 5:30 pm;
Tuesday and Thursday 8:00am-8:30-pm;
Saturday 8:00am-12:00pm.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Healthcare Workforce Development
- Design and implement training programs focused on healthcare roles such as nursing, medical assistants, allied health, and administrative support positions.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify skill gaps in healthcare roles and develop targeted programs to address these gaps.
- Collaborate with educational institutions, healthcare training programs, and certification providers to create job training and upskilling opportunities.
Healthcare Recruitment and Talent Acquisition
- Develop and execute healthcare recruitment strategies, focusing on high-need areas like providers, nursing, clinical support, and specialized technicians.
- Source and screen candidates, conduct initial interviews, and coordinate with hiring managers to facilitate interviews for both clinical and non-clinical roles.
- Maintain a pipeline of qualified healthcare professionals by building relationships with training programs, residency programs, and industry-specific job boards.
Partnership Development and Networking
- Establish partnerships with nursing schools, vocational programs, allied health schools, and local healthcare training providers to create talent pipelines.
- Organize and attend healthcare job fairs, recruitment events, and career days to engage with prospective candidates.
- Work with internal stakeholders to understand organizational staffing needs and align talent acquisition with long-term workforce planning.
Candidate Support and Career Counseling
- Provide career counseling and coaching to candidates interested in healthcare careers, assisting with certification and licensure navigation.
- Conduct assessments and create career pathways for entry-level candidates interested in advancing within healthcare, such as from CMA to LPN or RN.
- Offer support with resume building, interview preparation, and understanding healthcare certification requirements.
Compliance and Reporting
- Ensure all recruitment and workforce development practices comply with healthcare industry standards, employment laws, and licensure requirements.
- Track, analyze, and report metrics related to healthcare talent acquisition and program effectiveness, including candidate quality, turnover, and retention rates.
- Stay updated on labor market trends and changes in healthcare licensure requirements to inform recruitment and workforce development strategies.
Outreach and Marketing
- Develop promotional materials and outreach strategies to attract candidates to healthcare programs and employment opportunities.
- Use digital and social media platforms to connect with healthcare candidates and highlight opportunities within the organization.
- Engage in community outreach to raise awareness of healthcare career pathways and attract a diverse candidate pool.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Evaluation: The evaluation of work performance, including specific duties, responsibilities, demeanor, and work ethic, will be ongoing and implemented by the CHRO per center policies.
To measure the effectiveness of the Healthcare Workforce Development Specialist in meeting recruitment goals, enhancing workforce development programs, and maintaining compliance with healthcare standards.
- Annual or Semi-Annual Review: Conduct a comprehensive review of key metrics, including feedback from both internal and external stakeholders, to assess overall effectiveness and impact.
- Self-Assessment and Goal Setting: Encourage the specialist to conduct a self-assessment and set personal development goals based on evaluation feedback.
- Benchmark Comparison: Compare performance metrics to similar roles in healthcare or workforce development to identify best practices.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Education, Business Administration, Social Work, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: 2 years of experience in workforce development, human resources, career counseling, or a related field.
- Skills:
- Knowledge of healthcare roles, licensure requirements, and industry-specific regulations.
- Strong communication and people skills for effective collaboration with educational partners and healthcare professionals.
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS, and healthcare certification or licensure platforms.
- The ability to build effective relationships with candidates, training partners, and community organizations.
- Familiarity with healthcare career pathways and certifications, such as CMA, LPN, RN, and allied health credentials.
