Central Processing Extern, Sterile Processing Department, Full Time, Night

POSITION SUMMARY:

Externs will train on the job and together with their preceptor will identify and set up all hospital instrument trays, complete all sterilizing functions, and perform all sterilization procedures.

EDUCATION:

High school diploma or equivalent. Must be enrolled or completed The Valley Hospital Central Service Technician course.

EXPERIENCE:

One to two years hospital experience preferred.

SPECIAL SKILLS:

Basic math skills required. Effective communication skills to read, write, speak, and understand English required. Good customer relation, analytical, problem solving, detail oriented, and time management skills. Ability to work within time schedules, respond to customer needs, and complete job-related tasks.
