Job Description:
As a Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) at Valley Grace Dental, you will play a critical role in
supporting our dental team and providing top-quality care to our patients. Your primary
responsibilities will include:
● Assisting the dentist during dental procedures, including but not limited to fillings,
extractions, crowns, root canals, and cosmetic treatments, by preparing the treatment
area, passing instruments, and providing chairside assistance.
● Taking and developing dental X-rays, intraoral photographs, and impressions for study
models, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and regulatory standards.
● Sterilizing and maintaining dental instruments and equipment in compliance with
infection control guidelines and OSHA regulations.
● Preparing and organizing dental materials, supplies, and medications needed for patient
care and treatment procedures.
● Educating patients on proper oral hygiene techniques, post-operative care instructions,
and preventive dental measures to promote optimal oral health.
● Providing compassionate chairside support to patients, addressing their concerns, and
ensuring their comfort throughout their dental visit.
● Performing expanded functions permitted under California law, such as coronal
polishing, fluoride treatments, and placing dental sealants, as applicable.
● Collaborating closely with the dental team to coordinate patient care, optimize workflow
efficiency, and ensure exceptional patient experiences.
Requirements:
● Valid California Registered Dental Assistant (RDA) license in good standing.
● Current CPR certification from an approved provider.
● Completion of an accredited dental assisting program or equivalent training.
● Previous experience working as a dental assistant in a family or cosmetic dentistry
practice is highly desirable.
● Proficiency in dental software systems for patient records management and digital
radiography.
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-
centered approach to care.
● Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask in a fast-
paced clinical environment.
● Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism in
handling patient information.
