POSITION TITLE: Medical Records Clerk
RESPONSIBLE TO: Chief Operating Officer
FLSA STATUS: Non – Exempt
Purpose of this Position: The Medical Records Clerk I / Scanner will be primarily responsible for scanning medical records and being the back-up for sending and receiving medical records.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must type 40 WPM.
- Knowledge of Windows based programs.
- Ability to work without direct supervision.
- Detail oriented with ability to organize and prioritize work.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Scans incoming medical records and medical charts.
- Process incoming and outgoing medical records requests.
- Performs other related functions as required for health center operations.
- Maintains strict confidence on all information gained in performing the duties of this position.
- Assist with meeting quality measures by completing tasks related to VFHC initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Quality Improvement:
Participates in improving VFHC performance, processes, or programs through quality
improvement which will be demonstrated in at least one instance annually.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
- Continuous sitting, standing, walking.
- Correctable vision and hearing.
- The ability to communicate information and ideas so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
- The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
