Discount Grocery Store Associate

Welcome ! Valley Discount Grocery, Located between Bedford, Pa and Cumberland, Md is seeking an energetic and reliable individual to join our team. We are preferably seeking a strong individual for this position due to lifting and labor. We need a dependable person to assist with daily responsibilities for daily store operations. Responsibilities: Assist in bagging customers groceries, helping customers to their car if needed. Cashiering and assisting cashiers and stockers with loading new product on carts to be stocked. Return back stock product to the back and re palletize. Sweeping, mopping and trash removal daily when necessary. Keeping areas clean and free of clutter. Breaking down cardboard boxes to burn or recycle. Assisting in opening the store for business and following the correct procedures to close it down. Daily lifting of banana boxes up to a max of 50 lbs. Assisting with unloading trucks and/or loading trucks. Keeping stock carts full at all times if product is ready to stock. Putting items away in their correct homes. Willingness to help and do anything additional that is asked in a reasonable time frame.

• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the grocery department.
• Communicate effectively with team members to ensure efficient operations.
• Previous experience in retail sales or grocery environments is preferred but not required.
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills related to product knowledge and sales techniques.

Musts: - Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently.

Part time to full time ( 16 - 32 hrs per week) Pay: $8 - 14 per hour. Rapid advancement for excellent work ethic/ experienced individuals.

Expected hours: No less than 16 per week
