Responsibilities:
- Prepare examination rooms by setting up necessary instruments and ensuring cleanliness.
- Assist physicians during patient examinations and minor procedures.
- Take patient medical histories, vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, temperature, pulse, etc.), and update medical records.
- Collect and prepare laboratory specimens, perform basic lab tests, and dispose of biohazard materials according to regulations.
- Administer medications as directed by physicians and according to state regulations.
- Provide patient education regarding medications, treatments, and follow-up care.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Coordinate referrals to specialists and assist with obtaining prior authorizations.
Additional Responsibilities Based on Licenses/Certifications
Non-Certified Technicians (NCT)
- Perform basic radiologic procedures under supervision.
- Assist with patient positioning and preparation for X-rays.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of radiologic equipment.
- Follow safety protocols to protect patients and staff from radiation exposure.
Limited Medical Radiologic Technologist (LMRT)
- Conduct limited scope radiographic examinations.
- Produce diagnostic images for physician review.
- Administer X-rays and ensure image quality.
- Communicate with patients about procedures and provide instructions.
Radiologist
- Assist radiologists with advanced imaging procedures.
- Prepare patients for diagnostic imaging exams.
- Operate and maintain imaging equipment.
- Ensure accurate documentation and patient records.
Patient Interaction
- Provide a welcoming and professional environment for patients.
- Ensure patient comfort and address any concerns or questions they may have.
- Relay test results and follow-up instructions from the provider to patients in a timely manner.
Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to all clinic protocols and standards, including infection control and safety policies.
- Stay updated on medical laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and OSHA standards.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information at all times.
- Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
- Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records (EMR) and other healthcare technology.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Compassionate and patient-focused with strong customer service abilities.
Work Environment
- Fast-paced clinical setting.
- May require standing for long periods, frequent walking, and lifting or positioning of patients.
- Exposure to bodily fluids and chemicals, requiring adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements
