- Spring & Summer Operations: During the warmer months, the technician organizes, schedules, and directs the daily workflow of a team of technicians. They oversee the execution of major projects, such as large-scale chip sealing, bridge rehabilitations, major culvert replacements, and road realignments. They monitor materials usage, track progress, maintain accurate digital or written logs, and coordinate with utility companies, right-of-way owners, and the public to resolve localized project complaints.
- Winter Operations: When winter weather hits, the technician takes on critical, high-level operational leadership. In addition to executing elite winter plowing operations, the Technician 3 assumes operational leadership of a district or a specific shift during severe weather or emergency responses in the absence of the Road Maintenance Supervisor.

- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- A valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Tanker endorsement.
- A valid Idaho Traffic Control Flagger Certification (Competent Person or Traffic Control Supervisor certification preferred).
- An LHTAC Road Master certification (or commensurate experience and training).
- A minimum of five (5) years of progressive experience in road and bridge construction/maintenance, including at least one (1) year in a lead or supervisory-trainee capacity.
- Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate field crews and maintain strict accountability on the jobsite.
