What are the responsibilities and job description for the Journeyman Plumber position at Valley Corporation?
JOB SUMMARY
Ability to install and test water, sanitary, and storm sewer site utilities. Experience in working with Ductile Iron, Copper, PVC, Concrete pipe, and building plumbing systems. Experience looking at plans, and plumbing diagrams. Perform tasks involving physical labor at construction projects. Requires good communication skills and working with all levels of personnel and management.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:
- Lay pipe, fittings, valves, and other appurtenances for correct line and grade.
- Understand and follow Plumbing Codes and testing.
- Using hand and power tools.
- Read and understand grade stakes.
- Direct apprentice and other personnel as needed.
- Physical work is expected as a Journeyman Plumber and assist the crews as necessary.
- Abide by all company regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Educational requirements: High School Diploma/ GED
- License: City of Omaha Journeyman Plumber License
- Job is physically intense and requires, Bending, Kneeling, Stooping, Crouching, Twisting, Standing, and carrying over 50lbs
- Ability to effectively work with all levels of personnel and management.
- Self-motivated and able to work productively with minimal supervision.
- Must have a valid Nebraska driver’s license. Ability to work overtime including nights and weekends if required to meet project schedule, or emergency situations.
