Valley Community Services Board is seeking a motivated individual to join our IT team as a Database Administrator! In collaboration with IT, clinical, and administrative teams, the Database Administrator serves as a technical expert to optimize data workflows, troubleshoot data-related issues, and enhance access to accurate, real-time information to support informed decision-making throughout the organization.

Essential Functions
- Administer, maintain, and optimize different databases including electronic health record (EHR), HR management software, general ledger software, or similar systems.
- Design, implement, and maintain data storage solutions in compliance with HIPAA, state and federal regulations.
- Perform routine maintenance, backups, restorations, and disaster recovery testing.
- Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, encryption, and vulnerability management.
- Collaborate with application vendor, system administrators, and clinical departments to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Modernize and update outdate systems, such as, legacy databases and servers.
- Design, develop, and maintain operational and analytical reports using tools such as SQL, Crystal Reports, Power BI, or other reporting platforms.
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of reports to support data-driven decision-making across departments.
- Oversee and maintain data integration processes between internal systems, third-party applications, and external partners.
- Develop and manage APIs, middleware, or data connectors to ensure reliable data exchange across platforms.
- Ensure compliance with security standards and data governance policies during all integration activities.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or related field; equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in database administration, development, or related IT role.
- Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server and related technologies. (SSMS, SSRS, SSIS)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Understanding of HIPAA compliance and data privacy standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with cloud-based database environments (Azure SQL, PowerBI)
- Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate or other similar database administration certification.
- Experience with healthcare-specified electronic health record systems and reporting tools.
- Fastidious detail management and organizational skills are strongly preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience with administering retirement accounts within the Virginia Retirement System.
