Role Overview:
Functions as a member of the Phoenix Rising Housing Program Team and is responsible for mentoring residents in finding and living their journey to health and wellness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage consumers in a professional and open manner.
- Facilitate weekly wellness recovery action plan (WRAP) groups.
- Facilitate weekly recovery groups.
- Facilitate weekly support groups.
- Provide resources. (i.e., Schools, Benefits, etc.).
- Follow up on no-shows.
- Follow up phone calls for periodic check-in.
- Sharing personal stories of successful employment and recovery.
- High School Diploma or GED and continuing education in mental health field such as the Peer-to-Peer Counselor Program.
- Current driver’s license and automotive Insurance.
- Pass required background checks.
- Proof of Registration as a counselor with the State of Washington.
- Ability to transport clients (if necessary).
- Ability to work independently.
- Achieve certification as a Peer Counselor within 12 months of hire.
