Position Overview:
Valley Christian Schools is seeking a passionate, creative, and collaborative Middle School English & Electives Teacher to join our team for the 2025–2026 school year.
This part-time position includes teaching:
- 8th Grade English
- A Yearbook & Creative Writing Club
- An elective that alternates between Sports Marketing and Criminal Justice
Curriculum for all electives is provided—prior experience in Sports Marketing or Criminal Justice is not required, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are essential.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Teach 8th Grade English, focusing on literature, writing, grammar, and analysis
- Lead a combined Yearbook & Creative Writing club, including student journalism, layout, storytelling, and design
- Teach a rotating middle school elective (Sports Marketing/Criminal Justice) with provided curriculum
- Encourage collaboration, leadership, and creativity among students
- Integrate a Biblical worldview into all instruction and classroom culture
- Partner with middle school staff to support student growth and school-wide goals
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Education, or a related field (Master’s preferred)
- Prior classroom experience preferred, but not required
- Knowledge or willingness to teach elective content with provided materials
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills
- Passion for mentoring and working with middle school students
- Ability to model and integrate Biblical principles into teaching
