Job Summary:
The Admissions Manager will oversee admissions and student recruitment for one of the fastest growing Christian schools in the nation. The Admissions Manager will develop, implement, and oversee an overall admissions and retention plan, acting as the first and ongoing point of contact for families from their initial inquiry until fully enrolled status.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Develops, implements, and oversees an overall admissions and retention plan to include 660 K-8 students in the short-term and 900 students in the long-term
- Acts as first and ongoing point of contact for all new K-8 student inquiries, proactively managing and tracking the entire admissions process; all inquiries should end in a “yes” or “no”
- Organizes and manages prospective family Open House events, new family orientation, new student events and summer connect events
- Establishes recruitment strategies to attract and retain mission-appropriate students/families
- Continuously evaluates and updates new student application and re-enrollment processes and materials
- Promotes Valley Christian at all feeder schools and community opportunities in conjunction with the Communications Office
- This may include: managing recruitment tables at on- and off-campus events, school fairs, visiting schools and churches, and accompanying school groups at school visits or performances
- Builds strategic relationships with churches, feeder schools (events, shadow days), public/charter schools (as appropriate).
- Works with VCS families to leverage word of mouth within their communities
- Educates families on the STO program and other scholarship opportunities
- Works with registrar/other support staff on ensuring all applications are processed in a timely and proper manner
- Schedules and conducts family tours, student shadows and meetings
- As needed, schedules admissions interviews between new students and administrative staff
- Adheres to Valley Christian policies, procedures/processes and codes
- Performs other related assigned duties

- Possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to quickly develop authentic relationships with families
- Possess ability to consider, create, and implement new systems and processes that result in increased efficiencies and productivity
- An enthusiastic supporter of Christian education
- High level of energy and positivity
- Proficient with general software products, including Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and related software
- Ability to work independently and with very little supervision, while maintaining humility and a willingness to take direction
- Ability to multi-task with organization
- Must have and maintain a valid level one IVP fingerprint card and a valid Arizona driver license
- Ability to exercise initiative and sound judgment and to react with discretion under varying conditions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate relationships with outside vendors and businesses
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or an advanced degree) in a related field
Preferred Skills:
- Professional experience in admissions, sales, or business development preferred
- Prior experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and evenings.
- Must be able to work during prolonged periods of standing and walking at events.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Must be able to travel in state between campuses, to vendors, and to related events.
