Gifted Intervention Specialist
Reports To: Special Education Director/Building Principal
Work Days/Hours: 7:00 - 3:00
Work Year: 10 months for regular school year

Minimum Qualifications:
1. MUST HAVE A Bachelor’s degree in special education, education, or appropriate degree
2. K-12 Gifted Intervention Specialist License or ability to receive Supplemental
Gifted Intervention Specialist licensure
Responsibilities:
1. Co-teach with a general education classroom teacher
2. Instruct students receiving gifted services in small group or one-on-one settings using the classroom curriculum and supplemental resources
3. Co-plan with other teachers to ensure instructional goals are being met
4. Administer assessments as appropriate
5. Provide direct instruction on WEP goals
6. Collect data on progress towards WEP goals
7. Enter WEP progress data into reporting system quarterly and report progress to parents
8. Submit WEP goal suggestions, present levels, background information, and specially
designed services information to Special Education Director or designee by provided due date
9. Attend grade band meetings and provide input, when appropriate
10. Collect and analyze data to determine the effectiveness of instructional practices
11. With the general education teacher (when applicable), contact parents regarding the classroom performance of students receiving gifted services
12. Attend professional development sessions and parent teacher conferences as
determined by the school calendar
13. Fulfill hallway assignments during arrival and dismissal as instructed by the building principal
