Position Summary:
Reports to: The Executive of Schools
FLSA: Salaried Exempt
The Director of Facilities is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repairs, building projects, safety, and operational efficiency of the buildings, grounds, and infrastructure of all of Brave Church’s campuses and Valley Christian Schools. This role ensures that all facilities align with the purpose of Brave Church and their ministries (Schools) providing a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all ministries of Brave Church. Valley Christian Schools is a ministry of Brave Church.
Key Responsibilities:
Facility Maintenance & Operations
- Oversee the upkeep and functionality of all church and school buildings and grounds, including classrooms, auditoriums, offices, gymnasiums, and fields on all campuses.
- Develop and implement a preventive maintenance schedule for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security, and other systems.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and service providers for inspections, repairs, renovations and special projects.
- Ensure all buildings are well-maintained, clean, and prepared for daily school operations, church services, and all ministry activities.
- Oversight of the FMR (Facility Maintenance Request) system and keeping it current.
- Oversight of the IT Department systems and procedures.
Grounds & Property Management
- Supervise the care of the church and school grounds, including landscaping, parking areas, playgrounds, and athletic fields.
- Ensure timely execution of seasonal maintenance, such as lawn care and storm preparedness and fire prevention.
- Oversee facility setup and breakdown for school functions, worship services, and other events that should arise.
- Oversight of the calendar to approve space and making sure all things are taken care of as described in “Planning Center” (our facilities reservation software).
Budgeting & Resource Management
- Manage the facilities department budget, ensuring cost-effective maintenance and repairs, this includes budgeting of HVAC, Utilities, Repairs/Maintenance, Janitorial, Contracted Services, Vehicles to name a few.
- Track expenses and present financial reports to your Direct Report & Financial Director.
- Negotiate contracts with vendors and suppliers to ensure quality services at reasonable costs.
- Pay in a timely manner all operating expenses for all campuses.
Safety & Security
- Implement security procedures, including building access controls, surveillance systems, and emergency response plans. This is partnering with the IT Department.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire codes, and other safety regulations.
- Conduct routine safety inspections and collaborate with leadership to maintain a secure environment for students, staff, and congregation members.
Staff Supervision
- Oversee maintenance crew and custodial staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Event & Ministry Support
- Work closely with pastors, ministry leaders, and school administrators to ensure facility needs are met for all events and school activities..
- Follow and track the “Planning Center” for upcoming events to assure all necessary set-up, teardown or other special arrangements are taken care of.

Annual Salary:
- $110,000 to $125,000 40 hours per week
Requirements
Qualification and Skills:
- A commitment to the purpose and values of Brave Church, with an understanding of the role of facilities in ministry and education.
- Construction project management.
- General contractor experience preferred but not required.
- Experience in facilities management, business administration, or a related field ideal.
- Experience in facility management, maintenance, or operations, preferably in a church or school setting.
- Knowledge of building systems, maintenance procedures, and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and respond promptly to urgent facility needs.
- Experience with budget management, contract negotiations, and vendor relations.
- A committed follower of Jesus Christ an active member of Brave Church.

Work Conditions:
- Requires physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in varying weather conditions.
- Full-time position with occasional evening and weekend responsibilities for special events, emergencies, or repairs.
Salary : $110,000 - $125,000
