Job Summary
This position assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of the hospital's overall approach to quality and patient safety within the Trauma Program. This position is accountable for: 1) supporting the organization's performance improvement process; 2) providing stewardship for the medical staff, nursing and other clinical professional peer review processes; and 3) identifying performance trends, as well as prioritizing and recommending improvements. The Quality Coordinator will also investigate specific areas of concern as identified by leadership.
This position, in collaboration with Trauma Program leadership, provides consultation and assistance to medical, administrative, and other staff on peer review, performance improvement and other quality of care issues; translates data into actionable information; and participates with the customer experience process for monitoring and evaluating the quality of care and services provided to patients and families. This position will play a role in the identification of trends, formulating conclusions, and making recommendations for improvement.

Qualifications
Education
- College Degree - 2 year In Nursing (required)
- College Degree - 4 year related field (preferred)
- Masters Degree Public Health, Health Administration, Nursing or related (preferred)
- RN - Registered Nurse License - CA-BRN - California Board of Registered Nursing (required)
- BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (preferred)
- CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality - NAHQ - National Association for Healthcare Quality (preferred)
- CEN - Certified Emergency Nurse (preferred)
- CCRN - Critical Care Registered Nurse (Neonatal) - AACN - American Associations of Critical-Care Nurses (preferred)
- TNCC - Trauma Nurse Core Course - ENA - Emergency Nurses Association (preferred)
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 12 months of hire or transfer into position (preferred)
- ENPC - Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course - AHA - American Heart Association (preferred)
- Minimum five (5) years Critical care, ED and/or trauma experience (required)
- Minimum four (4) years Recent experience or knowledge of healthcare regulations including TJC, Title XXII and other regulatory standards. (required)
- Computer Skills Demonstrated progressive computer and presentation skills.
- Performance improvement and quality management experience are a plus.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- High level clinical problem-solving and critical thinking skills are a must.
