Qualifications
Education
- Associates Degree (required)
- Program AMA approved respiratory care program (required)
- Bachelors Degree (preferred)
- BLS - Basic Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 30 days of hire or transfer into position (required)
- RCP - Respiratory Care Practitioner License - RCB - Respiratory Care Board of California (required)
- RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist - NBRC - National Board for Respiratory Care (required)
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support - AHA - American Heart Association within 12 months of hire or transfer into position (required)
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program - AHA - American Heart Association NICU only; required prior to hire or transfer into position within six (6) months of hire or transfer into position (required)
- NPS - Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty - NPS - Neonatal/Pediatric Specialty Certification (preferred)
- Minimum one (1) year Full time equivalent respiratory therapy experience (required) Or
- Minimum six (6) months Pediatric experience in an area of practice (required)
- Mastery of the RCP I performance standards and accompanying competencies and completion of Unit-Based Orientation and competencies.
- RCP staff will have attended NICU Intermediate Core class prior to starting orientation to the satellite units (NNN, HNN, and MNN).
- Bilingual Skills Preferred.
