What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clinical Apps Analyst - Epic Research and Beacon position at Valley Children's Healthcare?
About Us
The IT Clinical Systems department is an administrative department that supports both patient care and non-patient care departments, including administrative staff, clinical staff, physicians, and all others who use Valley Children's Hospital (Hospital) information systems and electronic applications. It provides the management and monitoring of all IT software applications including the EMR and various clinical and non-clinical 3rd party systems. This includes centralized monitoring of system operational activities and events, data management, third party system support, and monitoring and improving system functionality including system upgrades/ updates. Support is provided for all software applications and system training and workflow needs via phone and portal ticket submission. User provisioning as well as access control is also maintained.
Staff in this cost center must attend hospital orientation as well as annual mandatory education/defined competencies for specific roles. Certified staff must complete the mandatory continuing education requirement by the State of California to maintain their certification. Staff must also obtain and maintain the necessary Epic/ EMR certification in their assigned applications.
Job Summary
As a Clinical Applications Analyst, you will support clinical systems and workflows within Valley Children's Healthcare (VCH), including analyzing and documenting processes consistent with the VCH mission. You will be a proactive problem-solver, demonstrating proven clinical functionality experience with a core understanding of clinical and/ or ancillary systems and application knowledge. Under general supervision, assists with the planning, analysis, design, implementation, testing, and maintenance of EPIC, and other clinical applications, builds and system workflows. Participates independently in the implementation, analysis and testing, maintenance and upgrades, application design, and debugging of Epic and clinical systems related projects. Utilizes a good understanding of the technical components of supported applications to maintain system integrity. Acts as a higher-level resource for application support and reporting needs. Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma/G.E.D. (required)
- College Degree - 4 year In related field (preferred)
- EPIC Certification 1 - EPIC within six (6) months of hire or transfer into position (required)
- Minimum two (2) years Information Technology related work experience (required)
- Excellent written and oral communication. And
- Ability to work independently with excellent time management. And
- Possible overnight and weekend on-call coverage.
