Job Description
We are currently seeking dedicated individuals to join our team in Concrete Block Plant. This role is crucial to our manufacturing process, ensuring the efficient production of concrete blocks while maintaining our high standards of quality and safety.
Responsibilities
This positions responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following tasks:
- Assist in the production of concrete blocks by operating machinery, such as block-making machines and forklifts, under the guidance of experienced operators.
- Shovel, sweep, and other housekeeping duties to ensure a clean working environment. Assist in end of shift plant cleanup.
- Operate the block cubing machine and verifies that equipment is running properly and safely.
- Perform tasks such as stacking, palletizing, and bundling finished products according to production requirements.
- Visually inspect quality of products according to prescribed quality control standards such as weight, height, color, shape and corners.
- Assist with preventative maintenance and plant repairs as needed.
- Assist in monitoring the operation of concrete block manufacturing equipment.
- Operating a forklift.
- Communicate with plant manager any issues or needed repairs to keep plant running effectively.
- Assist with other duties as assigned by supervisors to support plant operations and meet production goals.
- Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age and have a valid Alaska Drivers License.
- High School Diploma, GED Equivalent or passing grade on written reading, writing and math skills test.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or construction environment is preferred but not required; we are willing to train motivated individuals.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow instructions from supervisors and experienced operators.
- Willingness to learn and perform a variety of tasks in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including weekends and overtime, as production demands require.
- Must be able to perform duties requiring bending, stooping, squatting and crawling.
- Must be able to lift concrete products and other objects weighing up to 95 pounds each from floor level to heights up to 4 feet.
- Must be able to climb ladders to heights of 7 feet or more.
- Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time.
- Must be able to pass forklift certification.
- Pre Employment Hearing Test Required
Employment will be contingent upon submission to and successful completion of a pre-placement drug test as well as pre-placement verification of the information and qualifications provided during the selection process.
