What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Valley Asthma & Allergy?
Overview:
We are seeking a motivated and outgoing medical assistant to join our team at Valley Asthma & Allergy, a private allergy and asthma practice in Wheeling, Wv. Medical experience is preferred.
Once hired, you will start your training by administering allergy injections. Adequately mastering this skill is a basis for many other services provided at this practice. Once you have an understanding of allergy injection administration, you will be trained in the process of intake and discharge of patients, which includes measuring vitals signs, entering information in the patients' electronic charts, assisting the nurse practitioner when needed, performing pulmonary function tests, and sending prescriptions electronically. You will also learn the process of prescription drug and procedure prior authorizations.
You must be willing to work the front office, answer telephone calls, file charts, and schedule patients.

Pay: $15.00-$17.00 per hour, opportunities for raises based on performance

Schedule:
- Monday - Thursday 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
- Friday 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Experience:
- Medical Office Experience: 1 year (required)
- Vital signs experience: 1 year (required)
- EMR systems: 1 year (preferred)
