Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental practice. Duties
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain dental instruments and equipment, ensuring adherence to infection control protocols.
- Take and develop X-rays, as well as perform medical imaging as required.
- Manage patient records, including medical documentation and medical coding, while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide chairside assistance during various dental treatments, including general dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Monitor vital signs and assist in the assessment of patients' health status.
- Utilize EMR systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft for efficient patient management.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in accordance with aseptic techniques.
- Collaborate with the dental receptionist to schedule appointments and manage patient flow effectively.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Dental Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and infection control practices is essential.
- Familiarity with EMR systems (Dentrix, Eaglesoft) is highly desirable.
- Experience with 3D scanners and medical imaging technology is a plus.
- Strong understanding of pediatric dentistry principles is beneficial for working with younger patients.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while maintaining patient comfort.
- Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and team members.
