Payroll Specialist
Job Type: Full-time
Location: New Prague, Minnesota On-site
Schedule: Monday to Friday (No nights, no weekends)
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Payroll Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the end-to-end payroll cycle for an assigned portfolio of clients, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and top-tier customer service. Beyond standard payroll processing, you will assist with client onboarding, support tax season administrative needs, and work closely with our Payroll Leader to continuous improve our processes.

Key ResponsibilitiesCore Payroll Operations
- Payroll Processing: Accurately prepare and deliver payrolls on time for your assigned client accounts.
- Client Onboarding: Correctly and efficiently onboard new payroll clients, ensuring a smooth transition.
- Compliance & Filings: Prepare and submit assigned payroll tax filings accurately and in accordance with state and federal deadlines.
- Process Improvement: Actively identify opportunities to streamline onboarding, payroll processing, statutory interactions, and software integrations.
Client Service & Support
- Customer Service: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned payroll accounts, resolving inquiries and providing outstanding support.
- Team Collaboration: Provide daily operational support to the Payroll Leader to ensure seamless department operations.
- Front-Facing Support: Warmly assist walk-in clients with payroll and basic service questions.
Other Administrative Duties
- Tax Season Support: Assist the team during the busy tax season with administrative tasks including client check-ins/check-outs, answering phone lines, and filing documents.

Qualifications
- Certification: Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) or Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is preferred (or a strong willingness to achieve certification shortly after hire).
- Experience: Prior experience in payroll processing, client management, or multi-client accounting is highly valued.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail, excellent time management, and comfortable managing direct client communications.
