The Superintendent will oversee field operations, coordinate subcontractors, enforce safety and quality standards, and ensure projects are delivered on schedule and on budget.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily field operations for site development and underground utilities projects
- Manage and coordinate crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and vendors
- Read and interpret plans, specifications, and schedules
- Enforce safety policies and maintain a safe jobsite (OSHA compliance)
- Track daily production, material usage, and equipment needs
- Maintain project documentation: logs, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and reports
- Communicate regularly with Project Managers, owners, and inspectors
- Ensure work meets quality standards and project specifications
- Anticipate issues and coordinate solutions to keep projects on schedule
- Proven experience as a Superintendent on site development projects (required)
- Strong knowledge of underground utilities, earthwork, grading, erosion control, and general site utilities
- Ability to read construction plans and specifications
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (regional travel required)
- Commitment to safety and quality
- Construction-related certifications (SSP, OSHA 30, etc.)
- Experience with project scheduling and field reporting software
