Position Summary

Valle Vista Golf Club & Conference Center is seeking a reliable and energetic Steward to join our Banquets & Events team. In this hands-on role, you will play a vital part in ensuring our weddings, corporate events, golf outings, and other special functions run smoothly and look exceptional. You will be responsible for setting up banquet spaces to exact specifications, handling linens and materials, managing AV equipment, and maintaining a clean, professional environment before, during, and after events.

This is a flexible, fast-paced position ideal for someone who is self-motivated, physically capable, and enjoys being part of a team that delivers memorable guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Be available and ready to take on tasks as assigned by the Manager on Duty.
• Prepare and organize linens, banquet materials, and supplies for weddings, corporate events, meetings, and all other event types.
• Set up banquet rooms according to provided event diagrams and orders, including arranging tables, chairs, and appropriate linens.
• Properly place and arrange tablecloths, napkins, chair covers, and other linen items.
• Handle, transport, and set up audio-visual (AV) equipment as required for each event.
• Move, arrange, and break down tables and chairs efficiently and safely.
• Clean and reset banquet rooms before and after events to maintain a high standard of presentation and hygiene.
• Read and interpret event orders accurately to ensure timely and correct setups.
• Work collaboratively with the banquet and events team to deliver outstanding service.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as dictated by the event schedule.
• Physically capable of lifting, moving, and arranging heavy tables, chairs, and equipment for extended periods.
• Ability to read and follow event orders, diagrams, and instructions accurately.
• Self-driven and proactive — able to work with minimal supervision while staying productive.
• Easy to get along with and a positive team player who communicates well with colleagues and management.
• Previous experience in banquets, events, hospitality, or setup roles is a plus, but not required — we are willing to train the right candidate.
• Attention to detail and commitment to completing tasks in a timely manner.
