Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook meals according to established recipes and menu plans
- Ensure that all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner
- Assist with menu planning and contribute creative ideas for new dishes
- Collaborate with the dietary department to meet specific dietary requirements of residents
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen area
- Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed
- Adhere to all food safety regulations and guidelines
- Assist with training new kitchen staff member
Experience:
- Previous experience in a health care or culinary setting is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of food handling and safety procedures
- Proficiency in using kitchen equipment such as knives, stoves, ovens, etc.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent time management skills
