Job Description
The Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) Counselor provides counseling services (group and individual) and coordination of care for patients ages 14-17 years old and their families. The job of this counselor revolves around providing comprehensive therapeutic support to patients through a multifaceted approach. A significant aspect of this role entails facilitating groups where patients come together to explore and practice DBT skills; these group sessions aim to foster emotional regulation, mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, and distress tolerance. Additionally, the counselor conducts family and individual therapy sessions, tailoring interventions to address specific needs and challenges faced by each patient and their family system. The ultimate goal is to help patients develop adaptive coping mechanisms, enhance their interpersonal relationships, and manage emotional dysregulation more effectively. The pre-DBT counselor actively participates in team meetings collaborating with fellow professionals to discuss treatment plans, progress, and ongoing assessments to ensure patients receive comprehensive and cohesive care. This demanding role requires a strong commitment to helping individuals build resilience and lead fulfilling lives.
Salary: Master Level Associate License $72,000 / Master Level Independent License $85,000

Job Qualifications
- 18 years of age or older; and
- Master's degree in a counseling related field is required (professional counseling, marriage and family therapy, social work, substance abuse counseling)
- Must hold an active AZBBHE Associate Level License or Higher (LMSW, LAC, LAMFT, LCSW, LPC, LMFT)
- Must have the skills and knowledge necessary to provide the behavioral health services that the agency is authorized to provide and to meet the unique needs of patient populations served by the agency, including children, and meet requirements for a BHP.
- DBT Training
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills and must be able to execute conflict resolution.
- Ability to develop routine reports and correspondence.
- Knowledge of Windows 365 environment and/or Electronic Health Records Systems.
- Ability to provide culturally sensitive services
- Must have or be able to obtain a valid Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Must possess reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and proof of auto insurance.
- Must maintain current BLS certification
- TB Screening Record and PPD/QuantiFERON/Chest x-ray as applicable upon hire
- Vaccinations/Titer’s Test/Declination Form: Flu, Hep B, MMR, Tdap, Varicella, COVID-19 vaccine
