Material Handler
Purpose:
- Valkyrie Enterprises has an immediate need for a Material Handler in our Norfolk Virginia location who will be a key support in performing warehouse operations in Norfolk Virginia.
Job Description:
- Accepts and signs for deliveries from freight carriers for inbound shipments.
- Loads and unloads delivery trucks from inbound and outbound freight carriers.
- Stocks equipment within the Depot warehouse utilizing pallet jacks, order pickers, forklifts, etc
- Ensures all equipment is stocked and stored in appropriate locations in the Warehouse.
- Processes inbound and outbound Out to Vendors (OTV) repair request.
- Provides shipment tracking details to the UNITS and PMO Office.
- Licensed order picker and forklift operator.
- Manages DRMO disposition process.
- Performs Physical Inventory and Cycle Count Audits.
- Prepares large orders for Shipping
- Updates the ticketing system with pertinent information for CDRL reporting.
- Assist with PMI testing.
- Augments the Shipping and Receiving Clerk and Warehouse Specialists for surges or absences.
- Knowledgeable and understands DCMA standards for Government property management and storage.
Qualifications:
- Must be High School graduate
- Must have Working knowledge and understanding of DCMA standards for government property management
- Must be Familiar with OSHA standards for safety and hazards
- Must have At least 3-years of experience in warehouse operations
- Must be Licensed order picker and forklift operator
Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with military organizations, protocols, procedures, and processes, and working knowledge of addressing issues/concerns using the chain-of-command is preferred.
- Air Force experience preferred
Security Requirements:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance to access military facilities, naval shipyards, private shipyards, and naval installations.
Travel Requirements:
- Minimum travel required: 0% - 25%.
- If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:
- Repetitive motion, Climbing, Balancing, Stooping, Kneeling, Crouching, Crawling, Reaching, Standing, Walking, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, Picking, Grasping, Talking, Hearing, and Visual Acuity (depth perception).
- Subject to outside environmental conditions (extreme cold/heat), subject to noise, vibration, hazards, atmospheric conditions (affect the respiratory system), frequently work in close quarters and/or function in narrow aisles or passageways (areas that could cause claustrophobia).
- Protective clothing or equipment and face shields or goggles shall be worn when welding, cutting, or working with molten metal.
