Heavy Equipment Mechanic
Valicor Environmental Services is seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team at our Dearborn, MI facility.
This position will focus on the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment, including excavators, loaders, and other plant machinery, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
Job Duties
- Perform daily maintenance checks and adjustments to ensure equipment reliability
- Diagnose, service, and repair various systems on excavators, loaders, and other plant equipment
- Troubleshoot complex malfunctions using diagnostic tools and technical expertise
- Conduct major repairs to restore equipment functionality
- Maintain accurate service logs and documentation
- Train and utilize plant maintenance technician to effectively clean equipment, keep filters, radiators, cabs, etc. clean and in good working condition
- Communicate equipment status and needs with plant management
- Keep a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
Requirements
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of heavy equipment components and systems
- Proven troubleshooting and repair skills
- Experience with excavators, loaders, or similar machinery
- Ability to safely operate and test heavy equipment
- Capability to climb ladders and work at heights
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds
- Forklift experience a plus
