Valiant Search, an upstate New York-based legal search firm that partners with many leading firms in the U.S., is seeking an experienced Family & Matrimonial Attorney on behalf of a well-established Syracuse law practice. This role offers the chance to join a highly regarded firm, take on challenging and rewarding cases, and play an integral role in the continued growth of its family law practice.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in all aspects of family and matrimonial law, including divorce, custody, support, equitable distribution, and related litigation.
- Manage cases independently from intake to resolution, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, negotiating settlements, and appearing in court.
- Provide thoughtful, strategic, and compassionate counsel to clients during complex and sensitive matters.
- Maintain and build strong client relationships, with an eye toward practice development and long-term growth.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Admission to practice law in New York State (in good standing).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience handling family and matrimonial law matters.
- Strong litigation, negotiation, and client service skills.
- A portable book of business is preferred but not required.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of $125,000-150,000 depending on experience and book of business.
