Role Description The Assistant Manager is a full-time, on-site role based in San Antonio, TX, supporting daily operations of a residential community. This role assists with rent collection, lease administration, resident relations, and ensuring compliance with company policies and community standards. The Assistant Manager helps oversee maintenance requests, coordinates with service teams, and supports property inspections and vendor scheduling. This position also contributes to marketing and leasing efforts, including touring prospects, processing applications, and maintaining accurate records in property management systems. The Assistant Manager collaborates closely with the Community Manager to meet occupancy, revenue, and resident satisfaction goals while fostering a positive, professional environment.
Qualifications
- Property management and leasing: experience in residential property operations, lease administration, rent collection, and resident relations.
- Customer service and communication: strong interpersonal skills, ability to handle resident concerns professionally, and clear written and verbal communication.
- Administrative and organizational skills: proficiency in documentation, data entry, scheduling, and maintaining accurate records in management software.
- Financial and analytical abilities: basic understanding of budgets, reporting, and occupancy metrics, with attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Teamwork and leadership potential: ability to collaborate with on-site staff, support community initiatives, and take ownership of assigned responsibilities.
- Technical proficiency: comfort using property management systems, email, spreadsheets, and other business software tools.
- Prior multifamily or real estate experience preferred; NMHC or similar industry exposure is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework or degree in business, real estate, or related field is beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in San Antonio, TX, including occasional evenings or weekends as community needs require.
